AND LEARN MARTIAL ARTS
Welcome to The Freestyle Academy, Camberley
Activities at The Freestyle Academy of Martial Arts encompass traditional Wado-Ryu Karate, Ju-Jitsu, Aikido, Kickboxing and Weapons and allows the student to develop at their own pace. There are regular gradings and Student of the Month competitions. The Academy meets every Tuesday evening from 18:00 – 19.00 at Curtis and Staub Leisure Centre, Mitcham Road, Old Dean Estate, Camberley GU15 4AJ and every Thursday evening from 18.45 -20.00 at Kings International College Watchetts Drive, Camberley GU15 2PQ.
Other sessions can be arranged by special appointment. All fees go to Children’s Charities.
Fun and Fitness
Our emphasis is on fun, so don’t be discouraged if you have never tried martial arts before. The emphasis is always on fun and safety at the Freestyle Academy. Why not come along and give it a try? No lesson is ever the same!
We have several regular instructors, or Sensei and Sempai’s, who have been assessed and graded by several different Martial Arts disciplines. Occasionally, guest instructors are invited for individual seminars.
Free use of Equipment
We have an extensive and on-going range of equipment available to all beginner students. We encourage beginners to wear loose fitting clothing and plenty of water to drink. Insurance forms are available on request.
How to find us
We hold regular Gradings to reward and
encourage the development of students wishing to begin the journey in Freestyle Martial Arts. Attention to detail is paramount and to progress through the coloured belt hierarchy will involve committemnt and patience. Students are only selected for gradings when their instructors believe they are ready.
We are sometimes fortunate to have guest
appearances from former members, instructors and occasionally seminars. Paul Kulik, stunt man, actor and tournament fighter, is a regular visitor and began training with The Freestyle Academy in the 1990s.
Student of The Month
The Freestyle Academy regularly rewards
students who have practised beyond the normal expectations by a special award presented every month to the most outstanding performer in their preferred discipline. This is to encourage others to continue to practice to the best of their ability.
